The St. Cloud Rox front office had a brainstorming session last winter for a possible bobblehead promotion for the 2014 season.

The Rox had never held a bobblehead night and one name kept coming up: Eric Decker.

The Northwoods League team will honor the New York Jets wide receiver and former Rocori High School multi-sport standout with a bobblehead on Tuesday night against the Mankato MoonDogs.

The bobblehead has Decker in a maroon and gold No. 7 jersey with his now-famous long locks and stubble to go along with it. The bobbleheads were made by Alexander Global Promotions.

“We wanted to step out of the box a little bit with this one,” said Rox vice president and co-owner Scott Schreiner, who is a Rocori graduate himself. “We wanted to make a bobblehead that Central Minnesota would get excited about and Eric was on the top of that list.”

Schreiner said the interest in the Decker bobblehead has been high. Phone calls from all across the country have been coming into the Rox’s Municipal Athletic Complex office.

“We had fans from all across the country calling in to see if they could purchase one,” Schreiner said. “The only way to get one is if you get one of those 360 tokens. I’m sure we’ll probably see some on eBay the next day. The bobblehead craze hasn’t slowed down any. It’s still going strong.”
